Wire thread inserts for strong threads

BaerCoil® wire thread inserts are spiral thread inserts made of wire with a diamond-shaped cross-section. The wire thread inserts increase pull-out strength and surface finish, provide great corrosion and heat resistance, and generally reduce thread wear. The special geometry of our wire thread inserts ensures a balanced distribution of forces and a large effective shear area, which you would not achieve with a normal screw connection.

Thread inserts of the "free-flowing" type are suitable for most normal applications. These wire thread inserts are available in numerous dimensions, suitable for all common thread standards. As a standard, these thread inserts are made of stainless steel. In addition, we also carry "free-flowing" thread inserts made of various materials for special applications. Thread inserts made of Inconel X750, for example, have a particularly high thermal resistance and strong corrosion protection; they are therefore frequently used in the aerospace industry. Thread inserts made of bronze are suitable for use in seawater or when good electrical conductivity is required.

Wire thread inserts of the "screw grip" type are distinguished from the "free running" type by several polygonally shaped windings. These have a clamping effect on the flanks of the screwed-in screw and thus create a strong locking effect. Wire thread inserts "screw grip" are used wherever screws have to withstand strong shocks and vibrations without loosening. You can recognize these thread inserts by their red coloring.

The "NoTang" variant of our thread inserts are wire thread inserts that do not require a tang. Due to their special design, they can be installed without tang using the appropriate assembly tools, eliminating the tang breaking step. Particularly in the case of large quantities, this leads to noticeable time savings. In addition, the "NoTang" wire thread inserts are suitable for all areas where the tang can cause problems or is difficult to remove. This includes working with sensitive components in the electrical industry or areas where loose parts pose a particular risk, such as the food industry or medical technology.

Before you can mount the BaerCoil® thread inserts for thread reinforcement, you must first prepare the thread. For this purpose, we have included a range of threading tools in the BaerCoil® product line. We have machine taps and single-cut taps that are suitable for both machine and manual use. Also in our program we have combination taps that drill the core hole and cut the thread in just one operation. And for the chipless production of holding threads for the wire thread inserts, thread formers are also part of the BaerCoil® product family.

You need the BaerCoil® installation tools to install our wire thread inserts. You choose from installation tools for manual use and machine installation tools. Please note that for the installation of the "NoTang" thread inserts a special NoTang installation tool is required, which is designed for the tangless design.

The installation tool category also includes all the tools you still need for thread reinforcement or thread repair. These include drills and taper countersinks for core hole preparation, as well as tang breakers. If you want to remove a thread insert, you can use the BaerCoil® unscrewing tool for this purpose.
